You might want to consider spending some time out on the waters. Pack some lunch and enjoy the day fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Make an event out of it, and plan a barbecue on the beach when you get back. There’s nothing quite like watching the sun set over the water. Except for watching the first stars appear too. It is a breathtaking moment you must experience.
Go Sunbathing at Honeymoon Island

Bring your dog to Honey Moon Island
Bring your dog to Honeymoon Island
Take advantage of the Dog Beach and bring along your furry friend for a day-out on the beach. The Dog Beach is a mere 10-minute walk from the main parking lot. Bring your dog leash as well, because your dog must remain on a leash at all times. You and your dog can both cool off in the water. There are channels with shallow water so the kids can also join in the fun on a hot day. Even when swimming, you should keep the dog on its leash as the water can be fast moving. If you plan on spending the day at the Dog Beach, note that it closes at sundown. Click here for the Florida State Park official pet policy
Go Kayaking at Caladesi Island

Kayaking to Caladesi Island not quite your idea of relaxing ? No problem. You can always use the friendly Caladesi Ferry service instead. Another option is walking to Caladesi Island. The area is accessible on foot from the northern end of Clearwater Beach. In fact, only a “welcome sign” separates Clearwater Beach and Caladesi Island. We can thank Hurricane Elena in 1985 for this scenic walk.
Why not stay the night?
